Philipponat are one of the oldest houses in Champagne (since 1522) and their Raison d'etre is 'wine not bubbles'. Their wines are found in most of the top restaurants worldwide and with specialist retailers - and definitely not Supermarkets!
Their ROYALE RÉSERVE ROSÉ (75% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, 5% Petit Meunier)
has approx. 8% of a still red (Pinot Noir) wine from the fabled Clos de Goisses vineyard giving a delicately coloured salmon-pink rosé with a very definite fruity taste. It is full and ample on the palate with good acidity and a light astringency that brings out the fruitiness.

Bursting with aromas of red apple, freshly baked bread, mint and petals, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and gourmand, with a generous core of fruit, a pillowy mousse and a chalky finish. Philipponnat opted to use less red still wine than usual in the blend, given the power and intensity of color evident in 2018 (the core vintage used).
