Chateau Beaumont is a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur from the village of Cussac - between Saint Julien and Margaux so in esteemed company!
The 2019 Vintage was really excellent! A mild wet winter followed by a decent Spring and a very hot dry summer - pretty close to perfect conditions for ripening grapes!
Ch. Beaumont 2019 is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and a drop (2%) of Petit Verdot.
It opens with the expected red and black berry aromas, a medium to full bodied wine with lovely fruitiness and some sweetness (from the Merlot), but concentrated throughout with a touch of spicy plum on the finish (the Petit Verdot perhaps!). It is characterised by roundness, harmony and fruitiness.
Coming from a big hot vintage, the tannins are ripe and soft and is ready to drink but will keep at least 10 years.
So a wine from a great vintage, with a 90 point score, at this price? Surely a must have!

92 Points
Dark brambles on the nose. Great intensity and sculpted fruit here, this has some dark fruits and definite liquorice aspects to the palate but feels really precise and controlled. It's smooth with soft tannins and good presence until the end. Also has great freshness and cooling mint cordial tang on the finish. I love it.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate says
90 Points (90-95 is outstanding!)
The 2019 Beaumont has turned out very well, wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet berry fruit, pencil shavings and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and melting tannins, it's charming and nicely balanced. It's the finest wine from this large château that I can remember tasting.
