Ch. Les Grands Chenes is an up and coming star in the Medoc. Now owned by Bernard Magrez of Ch Pape Clement etc, it offers real value and quality to the Bordeaux fan.
A Medoc wine from north of Saint Estephe, near Ch Tour St Bonnet amongst others, it was purchased by B. Magrez in 1998. From that date the improvement has been dramatic and is approaching the quality of his 4 Grand Cru wines (Ch Pape Clement, Ch Tour Carnet, Ch Haut Peyraguey and Ch Fombrauge) .
The famed Michel Rolland is consultant to the estate!
Made from 70% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon and the essential drop (1%!) of Cabernet Franc, it has great up front flavours and is full and fleshy wine with beautiful aromas of fruit and surprising volume.
A real wine at a great price.
Les Grands Chenes 2017 Medoc is packed in 6 Btl Cartons (wooden cases are regrettably sold out!)
