Bright and perky fruit on the nose, with real energy here.
It's shows on the palate as dark and damson like, concentrated and nicely rich - like a blackcurrant coulis!
Very nice balance on the finish.
There is 20% new oak used in this cuvée but Joel Remy selects barrels not to really 'mark' the wine but to help amplify the sweetness of the fruit.
Excellent value!
This is a family estate going back 5 generations but Joel (in charge for nearly 20 years now) has considerably modernised the winery. The wines now offer more immediacy and precision.
