Echo de Lynch Bages 2020, Pauillac, Bordeaux

Echo is the second wine from the fabled Chateau Lynch Bages and is a star in it's own right!

Unlike the first wine which has some Cab. Franc and Petit Verdot in the blend, Echo is a straight Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%) blend.

It starts with an enticing deep garnet colour in the glass. The alluring - and expected - nose of black and red cherries with damsons leads to a medium bodied wine that offers savoury flavours throughout. It finishes fresh and long.
Unlike the Lynch Bages, Echo is ready for drinking within a decade.

Wine Spectator says
91 points (outstanding) This has a nice generous feel, with cassis and damson plum unfurling easily, backed by light floral and iron notes through the fresh finish. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2033.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate says
87-89 (Very good) The 2020 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, aging for around 12 months in one-year-old French oak barriques.
Deep garnet-purple in color, it rolls out of the glass with expressive, upfront notes of baked black and red cherries, plum preserves and blackcurrant cordial, followed by hints of new leather, tobacco leaf and a medicinal waft. The medium-bodied palate is chock-full of savory flavors, with a chewy texture and just enough freshness, finishing a little rustic.
