This entirely Biodynamic estate, Cordier, is based in Fuisse and always over achieves with the quality of their wines. Wine Spectator called Cordier a 'Miracle Worker'. Wine Advocate said 'Hero of the year' and Decanter says 'Always manages to produce wines that punch above their weight'.
With this 2022 vintage Macon Aux Bois d'Allier 2022, Cordier has produced a wine with uncommon depth of flavour and power, due to the low yields from this Lieu Dit. If offers green apple fruit, a firm acidity and chalky minerality and a gentle vanilla edge (as it's aged in old foudres - very large barrels). It is succulent, round, punchy with a long finish.
Christophe Cordier runs the estate alongside a Negotiant business. The family's history in the area means that he knows most climats/vineyards and is able to get the best from these older low yielding vineyards. Aren't we lucky!!
