Rich and concentrated fruit. Gorgeous silky complexity. Seamless balance with a long finish!
From the initial hints of peaches and toast on the nose, through the fresh fruit flavours and long creamy finish, this is a classic wine from Vincent Boyer. Using 10% new oak to age his wine, he appears to have gotten the balance spot on.
Robert Parker says ‘ Boyer Martenot produce some really quite excellent wines …. a floral style with peach and apricot scents furnishing the aromatics … these are wines you just want to drink and enjoy.’
We are big fans of the white wines of the Cotes de Beaune and have to remind ourselves sometimes that there is only 4 kilometers from the village of Meursault to the village of Puligny Montrachet. While both are 100% Chardonnay, Puligny is all about minerality, precision and length while Meursault generally is richer and creamier.
Wines from both villages are of course outstanding and Vincent Boyer has parcels in both villages.
