Nivarius Edicion Limitada 2019 DOC Rioja Blanco, Palacios Vinos de Finca

This top rated White Rioja is a blend of Viura (70%) and Maturana Blanca (30%) from a selection of Palacios vineyards for the Viura and their high altitude Vineyard in Nalda for the Maturana. This blend of vineyards and the differing soils in each, gives rise to this lovely fresh, structured, full bodied wine.

There is a lot going on both in aroma & flavour!

Refined on it's lees for a year, then blended with Maturana Blanco to offer something special!

It has a straw yellow colour - on the nose there are baked apple, floral and balsamic notes and a touch of dried fruits.
on the palate it is fresh & balanced with stone fruits (peaches, plums) and pome fruits (apples, pears) with a hint of spice and
light notes of vanilla. A long finish that retains a fresh clean flavour til the end.
This is a steal!!

The critics scores for Nivarius Edicion Limitada are silly for a wine of this price!

The 2019 vintage is one of those that will surely go down in history, it was described in Rioja as
'a cold winter with snow and rain which built up good water reserves in the soil, budbreak within the norm, a cool spring with moderate rain during the first months of the cycle, followed by a very dry and cool summer. This gave us a very slow ripening cycle, and a fantastic state of health, making it one of the best vintages in recent years'.
