Showing a light straw colour (despite it's aging), this 100% Albillo Mayor varietal offers notes of white flowers and grapefruit with very light notes of toasted wood. Well balanced with a full flavour and refreshing acidity that bodes well for it's aging potential.
It is elegant and complex but will reward a further wait! No chance in my house!
Chosen from selected 50 year old vines at 900 metres, this wine is technically oak-aged, but the barrels used had a very low 'toast' so made a minimal contribution to the wine, letting the varietal shine through.
Albillo Mayor is indigenous to Ribera and produces structured, aromatic and interesting wines. It has a higher acidity than the better known Albillo Real, which encourages long ageing with excellent results.

First to report was excellent though!
