Chateau Lanessan is a renowned vineyard in Haut Medoc - between the appellations of Saint Julien and Margaux no less.
It's a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (52%), Merlot (42%) and Petit Verdot (6%) and is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months (1/3 of new barrels, 1/3 of barrels of one previous wine and 1/3 of barrels of two previous wines).
Château Lanessan 2018 reveals a dark plum-coloured in the glass, with violet reflections. The intensely aromatic nose opens with notes of candied black fruits, cherry and kirsch, with beautiful floral notes evoking rose. Fresh woody and roasted notes then appear when the wine is swirled, along with spicy notes. Beautiful mineral notes appear next. The very fresh and harmonious finish stretches on for a long time at the end.
