Merlot

Merlot: A very popular varietal worldwide due to it's early ripening and ease of blending with other varietals.
While it can make great wines on it's own (inky, purple, full-bodied wines with plum and blackberry fruit flavours) it is a major component of the Best of Bordeaux where it is normally blended with Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc.
