With the 4th generation, in the shape of Alain's daughter Elodie now in charge of this 8ha estate (7.5ha in Nuits) the wines continue to evolve - with perhaps greater finesse and purity than in the past.
With vines averaging over 45 years of age, you get that little extra richness on the finish. Domaine Michelot age their wines for on average 18 months in oak giving a full, ripe and balanced wine with great potential to keep in the medium term.
The upfront ripe berries are well concentrated for a 'village' wine and lead to a full, long, elegant finish with the flavours remaining firm and convincing until the end.
2017 was a consistent and delicious vintage that was approachable in it's youth, but now heading towards it's optimum drinking window.
PLEASE NOTE: As I type only 12 Btls (2 x 6Pack) of 2017 vintage remaining. New Vintage 2018 is available but at a slightly dearer price!
